Product Description
Primal Scream s seminal album Screamadelica defined a generation. It s mix of rock, dance, dub, gospel and more caught the zeitgeist of the early nineties to perfection and it went on to win the inaugural Mercury Music Prize in 1992 and consistently be named as Best Album Of The Nineties and appear in numerous All Time Best Albums lists. This show, filmed on November 26th 2010 at London s Olympia, was the first time that Primal Scream had performed the whole album live and it became one of the must see gigs of the year. The band was accompanied by a brass section and a gospel choir with back projections specially created for the event. The result was a stunning musical and visual triumph and proved, if it needed to be, that Screamadelica is one of the finest albums ever made and that Primal Scream are one of the truly great live bands.

Format:DVD
As far as concert videos go this one is better than most but nothing new. The absolute treasure lies in the music . The live mix is superb and if you are a fan then this is a total must have for the quality of the sound recording applied to these amazing tunes.
VBisually the show fit in with the music and for those unlucky ones who never saw it this can recreate some of the atmosphere with the volume turned up to Primal Scream levels, LOUD!
If you dont 'get it' after this version of Damaged then you were never ready to testify and will never follow this band with their innovative and ageless tunes as showcased on this superb DVD.
Just get it and you will not be dissapointed.

Primal Screams Olympia show was a celebration of one of the best albums ever made and the band somehow managed to live up our impossible expectations and blow the roof of a cavernous conference centre. The package includes both sets that were performed on the night, together with a soundtrack CD and extended version of the Classic Albums documentary. The band really pulled the plugs out with the main Screamadelica performance; employing a gospel choir, brass section and some of the best visuals ever seen, they then shot the thing with multiple cameras (on stage, cranes and in the audience). Everything seemed to be in place for a film worthy of the event, unfortunately the whole thing has been ruined by a shambolic, loose edit which destroys all pace. This might, on the face of it, but a churlish complaint but its difficult to understate how important a good edit is, without it a live performance feels disjointed and without rhythm...a pretty critical issue with an album such as Screamadelica. It has the feel of something that was edited by a person - with no real knowledge of the band - live and on the night I had imagined that I would watch this video until the disc wore out, as it is its sullied a perfectly good memory.

firstly saw band live in leicester 24th march amazing concert great sound and lighting bought live dvd wot can i say but amazing live show concert is brilliant gud atmosphere classic tracks sound and lighting amazing again and long may they continue to make great songs and lyrics and perform live like they do they will be around for many years to come and on dvd u also get the 8track rock and roll set they did before they came on stage again to do the screamadellica set. fantastic concert great band great music long may they continue awesome band.

Poor sound
I'm sorry I have to disagree with last review. On a 2K seperates sound system (Nad & monitor audio etc) I thought the sound was woeful. Read more
