I love this series so very much. Yes it's for readers much younger than myself, but I'm a firm believer than you can never put an age limit on books. A good story is a good story, no matter what age you are. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;)
Invasion of the Normals is the seventh book in the Scream Street series, and it's one of the best so far. Normals - humans, to you and me - have managed to invade Scream Street, much to the horror of all the paranormal inhabitants living there. As you can imagine, all they want to do is take photographs of the numerous vampires, werewolves and mummies on the street, which doesn't bode well for their secrets being kept out of the limelight. It's a horrible situation to be in, but Luke, Resus and Cleo are on the case as always. They're like Scream Street's answer to superheroes!
This book also introduces a new character, vampire Kian Negative, who I absolutely loved. He's a little six-year-old bundle of awesome, and basically just runs around turning into a bat and shouting "I'm a vampire!". Every time he appeared I was reduced to saying nothing but "Aww", which was encouraged by Cartoon Saloon's accompanying illustrations. He has little fangs and everything! I think I've found myself a new favourite Scream Street resident - sorry Resus!
Everyone features in this book, thanks to the street banding together to get rid of the normals. It's a great stop-gap between story arcs, and it sets up the next book perfectly. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, as I believe there are some tricky trolls on the scene. Nothing is ever quiet on Scream Street!

I have a 10 year old son and an 8 year old daughter. Both of them love this series. We enjoy reading them together. The books are a fantasically fun.
