Product Description

The Headless Horseman, the world’s most famous ghost, makes a personal appearance at Everwell’s Emporium to launch his new perfume, “Decapitation pour l’Homme”. His overbearing gargoyle manager, however, is not impressed when the celebrity’s head is stolen during the event! Eefa Everwell recruits Luke, Resus and Cleo to help with the search, but Luke is on a head hunt of his own: for the skull left behind by the first skeleton to live in Scream Street. Once again Sir Otto Sneer is determined to thwart the trio, and when he launches his own Frankenstein-esque monster to terrorize them into handing over the relics of the first four founding fathers, it’s all they can do to keep their own heads

Skull of the Skeleton 6 April 2010
By Jenny, Wondrous Reads TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
In Skull of the Skeleton, Scream Street meets a new tenant: the Headless Horseman. They also have to deal with an unexpected visit from a member of the Sneer family, a dangerous Frankenstein-like demon, and the theft of the Horseman's head. It's all business as usual on Scream Street, and luckily Luke, Resus and Cleo are on the case.

I didn't think the plot of this book was as strong as previous installments, and it's probably my least favourite of the seven I've read so far. It didn't grab me as much as the others, and I don't think the general story allowed for as many laugh-out-loud moments as usual. I wasn't too fond of the Headless Horseman, though I did like new characters Femur the skeleton and Rocky the gargoyle. Although not the best visit to Scream Street, Skull of the Skeleton is still a fun read, and continues Luke's quest to find all six relics from the founding fathers.

My 8 year old daughter has devoured every single Scream Street book - the only problem with them is that they're not long enough!

My ten year old son is a reluctant reader so I am constantly looking for books which will capture his interest and the Scream Street collection of books certainly has done that!

My little boy couldn't put the book down and is anxiously waiting for the next installment to be published.
