I purchased this spreader to replace a Scotts Evergreen Accu-Drop Spreader which gave many years of good service before wearing out.
The current Evergreen Drop Spreader is far inferior in quality and far less robust than its predecessor,with a smaller capacity. The guide to settings applies only to Scotts products and does not even cover such basic products as Lawn Sand. I am disappointed.

Fast and free delivery once again from Amazon and received in perfect condition.
The spreader is extremely well made and all plastic materials and hardware are of an excellent standard. It took me about 10 minutes to assemble and after checking the calibration as indicated in the instructions I set the dial on the handle to the setting for my brand of lawn feed and weed product[7.5 for Evergreen Feed and Weed]. The on/off action is controlled by a lever on the handle. It is very easy to use and positive in stopping the flow at the end of each run. I was initially put off by other reviews which told tales of corroded parts after use but if you hose out the hopper after use and leave to dry I am sure there will be no such problems. A great value for money product which I can recommend.

I've had my spreader for a number of years now and find it an absolute godsend for distributing seed and fertilisers evenly, quickly and with no mess or fuss. I think that fertilisers are by their nature corrosive, I ensure that my spreader is cleaned and dried thoroughly after each use and kept in a dry shed and I have never had any problems.
