I'm a Scot who grew up largely outside Scotland and visit at least 3 or 4 times a year with young children. I find this guide really helpful - perfect for day trip suggestions and gives you a good idea of what a particular attraction will be like with little ones in tow. Unlike many guide books it has a great personality too - which makes it fun to read. Not yet used it for overnights as we have so many relatives but will do so this summer as we're heading to Skye for the first time.
