I spent nine years traveling extensively in Scotland before I took on writing Scotland: The Complete Guide and Road Atlas. From a writer's perspective two things stand out about this book. One was the opportunity to develop self-driving tours to some of my favorite places in Scotland including castles, golf courses, distilleries and lighthouses. Second was the design that the publisher used incorporating beautiful pictures and Scottish quotations. What resulted from the publisher's efforts was a detailed guide book with all the information one needs to travel in Scotland but also a magnificent large "coffee table" book for those who only dream of going to Scotland.

This is not a road atlas. Only has 3 maps about as detailed as a placemat. It was a complete waste of money.
