I see many negative reviews pertaining to battery life and reliability recently. Perhaps the manufacturer has changed some things up in the past year, but I just changed the battery for he first time since purchase in Oct. 2012 and I play 4-5 x week. So mine is a bit older, hopefully they aren't cheaping out recently. Long time coming for a review, for sure, but love the thing so much I NEVER play matches (tennis) without it. It really does take the concentration of scoring off my mind and allows more focus on my game. Once in the habit of hitting the button on every point, simply hit "down" or button that points at "me" for my point and the button pointing to your opponent for theirs, brain dead simple, just have to make it automatic on every point, which you adjust to quickly. NO MORE ARGUING over set scores and minimal if any arguing over game scores. Part of that reason as well is I typically call out score on every point now since it's always easy to glance the scoreband without having to think about it.Remember the pros have umpires call out and huge scoreboards, we amateurs have nothing, until now, to help focus more on play than score.
One reviewer stated the company is working on a new design. I hope they keep it just as simple. I saw another design from an opponent a couple years ago of a watch that is no longer manufactured. It had lots of little buttons and did a lot more than the scoreband. Like tracking multiple set scores etc. but looked more complicated than it needed to be. The simplicity of this design is fantastic so hopefully that remains, but If this version died on me I'd replace it in a heartbeat.
