2.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing really 9 Nov 2011
By Rustic
Format:DVD
In Scooby Doo 'curse of the lake monster' the original cast of Scooby Doo 'the mystery begins' return for the second film in the series.

My 7 year old daughter & I are massive Scooby Doo fans & we own many of the animated cartoons that are available on DVD. We really enjoyed 'The mystery begins' and had quite high hopes for this sequel, but I have to say that I felt really let down by this film. It feels very different in tone to 'the mystery begins', it lacked all the warmth and charm of that movie, the special effects felt a bit tired and the dialogue was just far less sharp & was not really very funny. The plot is arguably a bit more adult in that a large aspect of the film revolves around Daphne falling for Freddie & Shaggy falling for Velma, this kinda felt a bit silly & meant that Scooby was a bit sidelined. I'd love to say this was a good film that is worth the money, but I can't. The best thing about this DVD is the cool sleeve that the DVD is boxed in which has a moving water effect & there are a couple of 'What's New Scooby Doo' cartoons as part of the extra's.

I suppose if you want the complete set, then go buy this film. But if you are new to buying Scooby Doo movies then I would honestly say that there are many Scooby films that are far more entertaining for you to invest your money in.

3.0 out of 5 stars Scooby Doo, Where are you? 22 Jan 2013
By Gem21
Format:DVD
The other Scooby Doo live movies were much better than this one. My son (7) and my daughter (12) love Scooby Doo, as do I, but we had to ask ourselves throughout this whole film... Scooby Doo, Where are you? Scooby seems to have been in short supply while the film concentrated on love connections between the Mystery Inc crew. Disappointing, but watchable and no doubt we will watch it again and again and again - it's Scooby Doo after all.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst film of the series so far!
As an avid scooby doo fan I was very dissapointed, the actors were badly chosen. The actor who played Shaggy sounded like he had a sore throat all the way though the film, Velma... Read more
