Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

The animated pooch detective returns in Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, which packs a wealth of ghostly villains from the Saturday morning cartoon into one movie. When Mystery Inc. opens a museum exhibit of costumes of their old foes, a new masked foe appears and steals everything--and before you know it, all the costumes come to life, chasing Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Velma (Linda Cardellini), Shaggy (Matthew Lillard), and the computer-animated Scooby Doo all over Coolsville. It's no better or worse than the first Scooby Doo movie. Watching live-action scenes that you've previously seen in two dimensions is vaguely uncanny; it's like deja vu turned inside out. Also featuring the weirdly unsynchronized lips of Alicia Silverstone, Seth Green, and Peter Boyle. --Bret Fetzer

Scooby Doo 2. 8 Oct 2004
Format:DVD
I originally went to see this movie because Sarah Michelle Gellar stars in it as Daphne. But I discovered that overall this is a fun, comic, family film that I think the majority of people can appreciate. It's well worth a look and in all honestly is immensely enjoyable.

Having been subject to both of these films every other day thanks to my daughter being bought the double box- set, (thanks, auntie Michele!!) I feel I can review with authority!
This one feels much more gelled together than the first film. The characters fit in a lot better with their surroundings- Coolsville seems just as cartoony and two- dimensional as the main characters, but in a good way. It means there can be big creepy old buildings and abandoned factories and the like for the Gang to poke about in! The addition of Seth Green is, for me, always welcome; his character is Velma's rather geeky-but-hot-underneath love interest. Well, I think he's hot... But he and the other new characters are a lot more likeable than the characters in the first film, like Shaggy's blonde girlfriend-cum-monster, who never really appealed. I didn't care if she copped a branch in the face in the first film, but I didn't want Seth Green to turn out to be the baddie in this one! You'll have to watch it to find out if he is. It's strictly another no- brainer like the last film, and Scooby is still rather flat and charmless, but the kids will love it and you may find yourself laughing along too.

Raja Gosnell has proved that sequels can be better than the first in this side-splitting special effects galore family comedy of the year!
Mystery Inc are back to return to their hometown of Coolsville to face every single villain they caught and this time there's no costumes!
After seeing what Gosnell did with the first Scooby film I didn't think I'd enjoy this but I was wrong. Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini did yet another fantastic Shaggy and Velma and of course not forgetting the CGI supermutt Scooby Doo.
What spoilt it for the first and kind of did again for the sequel was the change in Fred and Daphne's character even though Freddie Prinze Jr got out of his wooden state and Sara Michelle Gellar did great anyway. I used to watch the cartoon series and Daphne always was the damsel in distress but now she is a kung fu fighting chick even though I didn't complain seeing Gellar going Buffy style on some ghouls and Fred always used to be the cool but smart guy of the gang but now he is just dumb and too cool which spoilt the first but was slightly improved this time.
This film is mainly for kids but there were a few jokes for the adults mainly the relationship brewing between Velma and the museum curator (Seth Green).
With a straightforward storyline, top of the range special effects and great acting all around with the support of Green, Alicia Silverstone, Peter Boyle and a cameo from the Big Brovaz nothing can stop the kids from watching this film again and again! Scooby Doo has done it again!
