A powerful thriller 1 Feb 2007
Format:DVD
Although it can be argued that 'Scissors' is not a widely known film, for those who enjoy psychological thrillers, Scissors is well worth tracking down.

Sharon Stone plays Angela Anderson, a highly unstable and sexually repressed woman in her mid twenties. Whilst seemingly able to live with her unstability, Angela's world is turned upside down when she sexually molested in the lift of her apartment block. Following her attack, Angela is introduced to the twin brothers who live next door (both played by Steve Railsbrack), one of which she grows to fear, whilst an attraction develops between her and the other brother. Confronted with these feelings and haunted by the memory of her attack, Angelas instability begins to deepen. After being lured to a mysterious appartment, the wider forces behind Angela's growing instabilty are revealed.

Scissors proved to be both intense and thought provoking. The character played by Sharon Stone, would interest many who are interested by psychology. Well worth a watch.

I loved this film, it is very dated (1988) but its a great psychological/suspense thriler starring Sharon Stone and Ronny Cox.

The title refers to weapon used against her when Angela (STone) is attacked in a lift with the attacker threatening her with a pair of scissors. Once Angela is lured to the top of an appartment block is when the film really does start to get going as shes becomes trapped in the room with no escape. With the exception of Steve Railsback's character who plays her neighbour that starts looking for Angela its pretty much Sharon Stone (looking hot) in a room on her own with someone playing with her mind and proof that she can actually act!

Theres a good ending which seems those taking advantage of Angela getting their comeuppance.

Worth picking up at a cheap price.

I saw this about a year ago and to be honest i dont really remember the whole of it now. However i will rate this 4 stars as its not a rubbish film at all, but wasnt quite jumpy enough for me and had some boring parts inbetween. I do remember a scene in a store in which the woman was trapped inside, that was a little jumpy and i just loved watching that scene.

Worth watching.
