This is a hopelessly designed breadbin on two counts. First, the inner usable depth is only 7", thanks to a meaningless raised shelf at the front (why?). Second, there is a full centimetre gap between the top of the door and the top of the bin - the consequence being that bread dries out very quickly unless it is wrapped. What good is that? I anticipate also that this gap will make it very easy for flies to crawl in during the summer. Some air is desirable, but a couple of airholes would have been much better.
Neither of these features is mentioned in the manufacturer's description, nor are they evident in the illustration. The handle is nice - but no good on a defective bin!
All in all, a complete waste of money. I am going to have to change this as soon as possible.

This bin looks nice, however mine is going back as upon receipt I noticed that the door has two splits either end where it pivots on the dowelling, so this seems like a bad design. Also not keen on the slanted position of the door, and would much prefer a magnetic door.
Good quality item, there is a small gap between the door and the lid when you close it but as long as you keep your bread in its bag then it causes no problems. This product was bought for my Grandma as a replacement for her old one and she loves it.
