Product Description
The pinhole camera recreates the oldest form of photography. The photograph is created by a tiny amount of light, so you'll need a steady hand (or a flat surface). The pinhole camera is a direct descendent of the Camera Obscura, which is Latin for 'dark chamber'. Contains 1 set pinhole camera body parts (assembly required, snap-to-build, width at 10cm), aluminium foil for making pinhole, double sided adhesive tape, spring and detailed instructions with fun facts. (needle & 35mm film cartridge required, not included). Adult supervision required when using needle. For Ages 7 & Up.

I bought this for my 6 year-old son when he was given a school project title of "Find out how something works". The kit clips together very easily. Making the shutter/pinhole assembly is fiddly (adult help certainly needed), but the results are brilliant!
The resulting photos were better than I dared to hope. Resting the camera on a solid surface is a must, but it really does work. Remembering to wind on is a challenge, but the educational value is tremendous.
One tip - remember to find a firm who will develop and print the films BY HAND. The pic are not evenly distributed along the film, so a fully automated machine would be a disaster.

My friend (23) who likes photography was very happy to receive this for her birthday. She had no problem building it up. She has not taken enough pictures yet to see what the result is.
