The box contains instructions and all the tools the child needs to create the batteries and the little lights, except for the actual material to charge the batteries which can be found in any household.
I bought this for my ten year old nephew as a birthday gift and he loved it. He has come to expect science museum gifts from me and he looks forward to them every time, so once again he made happy puppy sounds when he unwrapped the gift, and immediately wanted to play with it. I should note that the experiments need some preparation and patience; not always easy with children, but when we finally begun my nephew had great fun and was amazed by the results.
I bought other toys from the science museum for him before, like the
Science Musuem Hologram Chamber and the
Science Museum - Science Tricks which my nephew loved, but I was a little concerned this time, that this 'toy' was a little too scientific to be fun and interesting for a child. However, he was very interested and the gift was a great success.
In total a great gift for children that is fun and a great way to talk about science. Also, as it is in a nice box, it is really easy to gift-wrap. Highly recommended!
