Leonskaja's Russian Schubert... 26 May 2013
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
~~~
This disc is a reissue of Piano Sonatas, recorded in Berlin, 1988.
We're enamoured with Leonskaja's distinctive artistic temperament and superb technique of the Russian School: she follows Schubert's architecture precisely, while building on a different site in a different location in a clement spacetime of mystery and wonder which engenders a relished delight obtaining in the essence of femininity itself.
Schubert-lovers should definitely add Leonskaja's Art to the pantheon of priceless recorded realizations of D.894 including of course:
i. 18'51 ii. 11'28 iii. 05'09 iv. 09'37 Arrau (1990)
i. 17'16 ii. 09'31 iii. 04'51 iv. 08'56 Brendel (1988)
