This is musicianship of a high order, the Notturno in particular being a triumph of sensitivity. The trio (Anhony Marwood, Richar Lester and Susan Tomes) have a complete empathy with each other, the tempi are chosen at just the right pace to allow every nuance to be projected clearly but without dragging.
The production date is 2001, and the engineering is what you would expect from Hyperion, with excellent spacial characteristics, and a warm and not too reverberant acoustic, ideal for a small ensemble creating an intimate atmosphere. Recommended without reservation.
