Product Description

It is not always possible to school your horse in an indoor school or an outdoor arena. However, it is not always necessary to have access to either as the author Daniela Bolze shows. She tells the reader How to take advantage of safe hacking areas in the countryside to school a horse with the use of dressage movements and improve its fitness. So many riders are frustrated by a lack of access to proper schooling facilities. However nature provides a perfect opportunity to practice both simple and more complex dressage movements on almost any hack. Daniela Bolze gives practical examples of where, how and why that will make schooling a simple everyday exercise for most riders. * Of appeal to riders of all levels of experience and ability, from weekend hackers to dressage competitors. * Clear illustrations and colour photographs help riders to visualise the possibilities that are available to them.

Really good book to trigger your imagination and allow you to be more creative in exercising your horse, great illustrations to emphasize points and help demonstrate certain exercises and locations. Somewhat irritating was the repetative safety precautions stated on virtually every page but i suppose it is a must and all relevent and necessary. It also assumes you are at a level of schooling where the rider knows pretty much what they are asking the horse to do and which aids to give.

I am very glad that I bought this book, when stuck for appropriate schooling space or in a 'boredom' rut this really is the inspiration you need and i've had a lot of fun trying the exercises with friends while riding out!

This book is great. So good to have the movemnents demonstrated by a Fjord pony rather than a grand prix dressage master! Very clearly written and easy to follow in practice.
Thanks
