Scholl Velvet Smooth Essential Moisture Cream - a moisturiser that is non-greasy and absorbs quickly

Scholl Velvet Essential Moisture Cream can give you silky soft feet, everyday. It has been specially formulated to keep your feet hydrated all day and absorbs in just 60 seconds. Scholl Velvet Essential Moisture Cream contains MarineActiv, Daymoist, vitamins A and E and Omega 6 for 30 per cent more moisture in 7 days for softer-feeling feet.

How to use

Apply once or twice a day to clean, dry feet.

Ingredients explained

  • Vitamin E: Vitamin E suppresses aggressive oxygen molecules that damage the cell wall and can arise through stress or smoking.
  • DayMoist: Its biological active components perceptibly improve the moisture content of the upper skin layers and effectively prevent cracks and fissures from developing. Furthermore, DayMoist supports the so-called Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) of the skin. The NMF is composed of various different natural substances (including organic acids, salts, sugar, and urea) stored in the epidermis that are able to effectively bond water. This way DayMoist ensures that the stressed skin of your feet is always provided with sufficient moisture.

I have used loads of different moisturisers on my dry feet, but they have all taken too long to soak in or don't smell particularly nice. This Velvet Smooth Pedicure Daily Foot Moisturiser not only soaks in really quickly as it says on the packet, but it also smells really nice. I have used is every day since it arrived.

A definite for anyone with dry feet that need some TLC

velvet smooth is a good name for this product. I don't have hard skin on my feet but I do suffer with pain in them so they regularly get massaged and this stuff is really nice to use for that. I may have imagined it but my feet actually felt softer and more comfortable the next morning after just one use. It's not greasy like some things that I've used in the past so even though it's a bit more expensive that the run of the mill moisturisers I would definitely use it much more often now

As suggested from the packaging, this is a very fast absorbing product. It does actually soak into your feet in a minute or two, rather than leaving them feeling at all sticky. This is the main selling point of this over other moisturisers, in my opinion, as some foot creams can be quite heavy and leave your feet feeling greasy. This has more of a fluid consistency.

I do have dry skin on my feet and this has improved them, however, the actual cream is no better at moisturising than the other brands I have tried really, so I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this specific product, as generic drugstore brands that are significantly less in price have done just as good a job for me in the past.

One advantage I will say for this is that it is ideal for holiday packing, as a little goes a long way and it has a light feeling. Other than that though, I probably won't rebuy it very often.

This goes on easily, is absorbed quickly, and lasts. I use it in the mornings, and it seems to last for the rest of the day, without any dryness or needing to re-apply. The mask, which is thicker and meant to deep-treat the feet, seems more topical than anything else, yet I can feel my feet feeling more supple within minutes of applying this.

The only reason is loses a *, is that it could have done with a menthol/cooling additive, for these hot summer months, and it is a tiny bit greasy, so I do slide around in my sandals til it's completely dried.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Thanks to the advances in hard skin removers these days, there's more need than ever for good moisturisers to finish the job by smoothing and softening the skin. There are countless products out there - to some, it's quite a bewildering array - and, in truth, the vast majority have a reasonably positive effect on the feet. I haven't yet found some kind of exceptional serum that really works wonders. So how does this particular product fare? The answer, in my opinion, is fairly well, but no better than many others I've tried. It's quite a runny sort of moisturiser, closer to a lotion than a cream, with a pleasant but faint fragrance. Having tried it for a month, I do think it has made my feet feel softer, but I suspect most moisturisers, if applied as regularly, will have a reasonably similar effect. If you're looking for one product and you feel this price is acceptable, I can recommend this as a perfectly decent daily moisturiser, but just don't expect it to do anything too dramatic.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Scholl Velvet Smooth Pedicure Daily Foot Moisturiser is a pleasantly scented and non greasy milk more than cream i.e. it is very thin. I have had dry skin on my feet for years and have managed to keep it reasonably under control - after trying various brands of creams and potions - with a different Scholl cream so was very interested to see what this product could do.
I have now used the Velvet Smooth moisturiser every morning and evening for a couple of weeks. I really like the scent and it absorbed into my skin very quickly BUT, after an hour my skin had dried out again so, for me, it did not live up to its claim of keeping my feet hydrated all day. I would suggest that this moisturiser is suitable for those who have well hydrated skin on their feet already and want to take care that they stay that way. If, like me, your feet require something more heavy duty to give the same effect, then you may need to try a different product within the range.

I'm a big fan of Scholl Dry Skin Instant Recovery Cream Skin Care 60ml, and I must admit I'm not sure about their new Velvet Smooth range, which seems to be replicating a lot of their older products with no significant improvements. I've now tried the Velvet Smooth serum, the foot soak, and this moisturiser, and only the foot soak seemed to me to be a useful addition. In the case of this moisturiser, the Instant Recovery cream is just much better; it's more intensely moisturising and seems to have more long-lasting results, while this cream doesn't seem to do anything that a normal body lotion wouldn't do. The Instant Recovery Cream is slightly more expensive, but I think it's worth the extra money. While the Velvet Smooth range does have a lovely scent and nicer packaging, the results so far aren't as good.
