Product Description

Scholl Orthaheel Orthotic Inserts

orthaheel sport

The Scholl Orthaheel range of inserts has been developed to meet a variety of needs.

The pain each person has will be different - it could be heel pain, ball of foot pain, knee pain or even lower back pain. Some people might have problems that are not linked to excess pronation but are caused by diseases such as diabetes or arthritis.

Others may have pain related to sporting activities or to wearing certain types of footwear like high heels.

People will also have different needs depending on the footwear that they are wearing.

The Scholl Orthaheel Sports Orthotic has been designed to fit closely to the bottom of the foot, affecting the position and the motion of the foot to help reduce the amount of pronation that takes place during activities, which has been linked to stresses in the body that can lead to pain. It provides comfort and support all along the length of the foot.

The motion control in the insert also makes this orthotic suitable for running, ensuring the foot is kept from moving side to side.

The Scholl Orthaheel Sports Orthotic can help with:

Orthaheel Orthaheel
Orthaheel Orthaheel
  • Pain under the heel
  • Pain at the back of the heel
  • Knee pain
  • Metatarsal pain
  • Positive benefits for some with lower back pain

The full length insert slips into the back of the shoe and runs from the heel under the arch and right to the end of the toes. This provides comfort and support all along the length of the foot.

This product is suitable for wider fitting shoes such as sports shoes and walking boots that will comfortably accommodate a full length insole. When fitting it into a shoe with a removable insole, such as a sports shoe or walking boot, it’s important to remember to remove this insole before inserting the Scholl Orthaheel Sports.

There is a left and right insert in each pack, and both should be worn even if the pain only affects one side of your body. The inserts stay in place without the need for glue so they can be moved between different pairs of shoes.

Directions

Before usage, ensure that the orthaheel is comfortably accommodated within the shoe: if necessary remove the existing insole. If any discomfort occurs, remove the orthotics for one or two hours, then wear again and repeat until comfortable.

After my legs became weakened by a recent illness a physiotherapist/sports injury specialist suggested that I should buy a pair of these insoles to help improve my gait; he even pointed them out on the Amazon site. On his recommendation bought two pairs, one to swap between my day-to-day shoes and one for my trainers which I use on the gym treadmill. I have used similar products in the past but these are proving to be very robust and comfortable. The reduction in the amount my ankles roll inwards when I am walking has made everything much more comfortable and less tiring and my gait has improved markedly.

I encountered plantar fasciitis recently for the first time. I saw a GP who prescribed ibuprofen as a first step (no pun intended) but with little appreciable success and then a podiatrist (who diagnosed 8 degree pronation and was raising the possibility of custom orthotics at nearly £ 200). I bought a new pair of trainers (Nike Pegasus 29) which were only partially successful. I then experimented with (camping foam) inserts in my trainers and slippers and that seemed promising before they flattened out under the troublesome heel. After looking at the reviews I bought these and put them in the trainers on top of the maker's insoles. They're not absolutely perfect, I can still get a little pain in my heel, but I'm very grateful for the relief they offer and I'm very pleased with them. I'm looking forward to getting back into some more serious walking shortly and then we'll see. The whole business of trainers is non-transparent. There's usually no information on the box and I was lucky to find someone in a Nike outlet store who could help me choose. Of course you have to remember that, finally, it's the combination of shoe and orthotic that you're wearing. Anyway, these orthotics (with my trainers) seem to do what they claim and I'll be happy to replace them before the year is out rather than let them deteriorate.

I bought a pair of Orthaheel Sport Orthotic, size 9 due to increasing pain in my heels when walking, particulalrly in the morning, and after playing sport. It was getting to the point where playing sport at weekends was extremely painful in both feet, but after putting the Orthaheels into my cricket boots I soon felt the pain begin to subside, first in one foot, then gradually the other. After two hours I felt little or no pain. I have only one pair, so constantly have to transfer them between shoes (at £19 I'm reluctant to buy a pair for each shoe/boot/trainer), and sometimes forget to put them in so I do still get pain occasionally. But, generally I can say that these have been very effective for me, particularly when playing sport and I'd recommend them to others, although possibly a cheaper version is available which will do the job just as well.

Has proved very comfortable and very effective. Found to be most useful when inserted into golf shoes. Has helped to cure plantar fasciaitis from which I suffered.

While a little pricey compared to other inserts, since using them I have had no recurrence of my plantar fascitis, which has been horribly painful and debilitating in the past. This makes them well worth the money, in my opinion.

As someone who spends the day on their feet in formal shoes, they have also reduced my general foot tiredness and discomfort. I am going to buy another set so I don't have to swap them between my work and home footwear. Would recommend.

I bought these following the advice of my physio to support my lower back. I am not here arguing the efficiency of the product as I never wore them. So they may work as they did feel quite sturdy soles.
These were delivered promptly. The trick was I have to wear court shoes for work and never managed to even fit the heel s width in any of my shoes, I even bought some clarks s wide fit shoes and they couldn't fit in. They would gave been too deep as well anyway.
I assume these things really only work in trainers as they are loose shoes which also have a removable inner sole. I think that more specification as to size and what type of shoe they fit in should be included in the selling description/ manufacturer package.
No good for people who have to abide to dress codes though. Shame. I had to send them back.

My son feels the difference with having these in his school shoes, it makes his feet much more comfortable and correct his arch. He definitely benefits from these.
