We are using these toys as treats for good behaviour for our two and a half year old son, so I suppose they are likely to become prized posessions, but he loves them. They are wonderfully detailed and well made and a good size (about 15cm tall) with no small parts so safe for younger children. He absolutely adores them so we have purchased several of the knights in this series. The horses come in beautifully animated postures and the way the knights click into the saddle means they can be picked up by the knight and don't come detached unless you want them to. Excellent overall.

I am returning this to Amazon as the paintwork is not very good; the gold detail is overlapping onto the cloth a lot and it looks really sloppy. Considering the price of these figures and the reputation of the company I was disappointed. I bought 5 Schleich pieces and 3 of them were beautifully painted to a very high standard-- unfortunately, this one and one other were not. I know the family owned company was sold in 2006 and hope my experience isn't the shape of things to come for Schleich; the figurines themselves are wonderful. That being said even if the paint was well done this one wasn't as attractive some of the other knights on horseback in my opinion.
