Good quality model at a reasonable price. It is also suggested that the BBC DVD "The Ballad of Big Al" is also purchased, as this explores the discovery of an almost complete Allosaurus fossil dating back 145m years, and is a very interesting DVD from the BBC in the "Walking with Dinosaurs" series - highly recommended.

Nicely proportioned with a good paintjob but this teeny dino lacks oomph. If you want an Allosaurus then Sleich make a bigger version with a nasty glint in his eye. Alternatively, Papo do an impressive but slightly over the top model. This little fella, well... he looks like he's wondering where he left his car keys, poor thing.

My daughter has a vast collection now of these Schleich animals and I have to say they really are fantastic! So durable, they go everywhere from outings in the woods to even playing in the bath! What I love most about them is how they encourage imaginary play. She has been using them since she was about 18 months and now as a three year old she can play for long periods of time acting out different adventures and stories. It really beats all those singing and dancing toys that do it all for them! They are slightly pricey but pay for themselves ten times over.

Not as scary as it looks !
