Format: Audio CD
Before this album, Sepultura had only really been caught up in the shock of being a signed band... Their first 2 releases (Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions) are very primitive, but also very fun, and still classics. Schizophrenia, however marked a departure from the basic template of Death Metal, and also the first album with Andreas Kisser.
This started off all the things we know about Sepultura - thrash with a political mind. The hardcore stuff that Max was listening to was starting to influence his song writing, and Andreas knew how to play his guitar.
Providing the base for "Beneath The Remains" and subsequently "Arise", the bands biggest album of their thrash period, and their breakthrough album, Schizophrenia is important for all those who would like to know how Sepultura got to where they are now...

This album is Sepultura at their best. Fast songs, all of which are heavy and brutal with precision drumming and crazy solos.

I believe this is their strongest album on par with Beneath The Remains.

If you're new to Sepultura or if you haven't already got it in your collection then buy it today!

Format: Audio CD
This was Sepultura's second full length album and in my opinion a pretty good one. It shows a level of musical maturity that the band just weren't capable of a year earlier with 'Morbid Visions' having dropped the cheesy satanic rubbish for more grown up and slightly more political lyrical themes. I think compared to their later works of Beneath the remains, Arise and Chaos AD this album feels a little bland but it sets the seen for 1989's masterpiece 'Beneath the Remains'. Another important thing about this album is the addition of Sepultura's now long time lead guitarist Andreas Kisser who brings another element to Sepultura's sound. If you are interested in this album and have heard some of it i would reccomend Arise or Beneath the remains over it.

This is a good album, but its not the best. Some people might not like it because of the production.
This is like a mix of Slayer, Kreator, Metallica and Death in one cd. The drums are fast, guitars are thrashy and they sometimes get in the boundaries of death metal. The bass is cool but you cant really hear it. Max Cavaleras voice is pretty bad on this record, but that does not matter because the guitars and drums make up for it. If you enjoy this I would suggest to try out anything by Slayer (Specially Reign in Blood), Kreator or Sepultura's Beneath the Remains which has a really production considering it came out a few years after this one. Enjoy.
