Alas, drill and repetiton are part of learning a language. This book gives you a LOT. It suffers from a lack of more complex exercises with answers that explain the issues involved, but for a blunt "practice practice" approach its pretty good,
The explanations of the rules of grammar are clear.

I would classify this book as more of a workbook/exercise book.
It provides a generous amount of exercises to work on (something most textbooks lack) and throws you straight into USING the grammar.
However, if you are looking for a book that offers bright engaging colours and endless explanations to the grammar points, perhaps you need something else.

I was recommended this book as a good buy by my OU tutor. I have found it to be an excellent workbook to improve grammar and learn the basics easily. Good price for benefits it brings!
