An unusual and lovely cookery book,
By
This review is from: The Scented Kitchen: Cooking with Flowers (Paperback)
This lovely book is really for gardeners, although you don't need a veg patch. It makes use of the kind of plants which are commonly found in British gardens - roses, lavender, marigolds, carnations, violets and pansies, elderflower. The recipes are easy to follow, although I suspect you're probably more likely to use this book to inspire fresh flavourings to your everyday cooking. There are preserves and baked goods, too. The only recipe I've followed from start to finish is the one for rose petal jelly, which I've written about on my blog, Joanna's Food.No photographs, which some may see as a drawback, although I don't mind.
