3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't meet expectations. 31 July 2012
I purchased 33 Scenes From Life mainly due to Julia Jentsch playing a prominent role. I am a big fan of German cinema and just assumed that this Polish effort would have met the same grade. Alas, this film is numbingly boring. The plot involves the trouble and crisis that various family members hve to face, and that basically is the film. Julia Jentsch stands out as an actress of talent among amateurs. Another annoying point is that the English subtitles leave a lot to be desired, they are out of sync and do not acurately portray the spoken Polish. If JUlia Jentsch had not been in this film, I would have awarded 1 star.
