The next release on mau5trap is a special one. We would like to introduce Skrillex and his fabulous release 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'. Skrillex is a young talent hailing from Los Angeles. With big support from deadmau5 himself and currently on tour in the US with him, Skrillex is already keeping up with the big hitters. He brings us an EP of such eclecticism that it has something for every dancefloor, every stereo and everyone who is into good quality electronica. Starting of this EP is Rock N Roll a big electro stomper with his signature warm synths and riffs that you'll become familiar with as you work your way through his tracks and realise the production quality is second to none. Onto Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites with a very memorable riff and heavy hitting dubstep, a great title track which moves us perfectly into Kill Everybody another electronic, mind blowing production. When you get to All I Ask Of You, you will notice that Skrillex has more to his repertoire than electrifying riffs and stomping bass lines - yet building melodic synths and beautiful melodies combined with the vocal talents of Penny. Scrillex teams up with London collective Foreign Beggars and Dubstep producer Bare Noize for Scatta - another smashing electro/dubstep monster. To finish the mini album, Srillex brings us a melodic synth driven piece of music with gorgeous vocoders that round off the release in style. Also included in the package are three great remixes from Noisia, Zedd and Bare Noize.

So after hearing all the hype from Deadmau5, I decided to check this EP out and it was probably one of the best musical decisions I've ever made in my life! This EP is nothing short of special. Rock N' Roll is just pure brilliance with great melodies and disgustingly good bass lines. Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites is probably the highlight of the EP with a perfect mix of all different types of electronic music. Kill Everybody is another strong track that will be explosive live. All I Ask Of You shows the more melodic side of Skrillex and the great lyrical work from Penny. Scatta is straight up Dubstep at it's best and Foreign Beggars just adds another dimension to the track. The original tracks finish off with the absolutely fantastic With Your Friends which is one of my personal favourites. The melody is second to none and the use of vocoder makes it a truly special track. The 3 remixes are all pretty good and the highlight being the Noisia remix of Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites. Overall this EP is just a brilliant collection of electronic tracks. If you haven't listened to the My Name Is Skrillex EP then I advise to do so as it is as equally as good as Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites. I will definitely be on the look out for more material from Skrillex and on any tour dates. So basically get this EP!

This amazing album,from the emo-leader of from first to last, it's a mixture of great electro vibration, with dubstep influence. His great distorted bass, the "growl" bass, make this album perfect.
The album contains 6 original tracks and three remixes, with unbelievable guest, such as foreign beggars and the drm n' bass kings, Noisia.

The title says it all really; anyone with even a passing interest in electronic music should hear this producer.
I'm not going to attempt to explain what sub-genre of dance music this falls into, because this E.P manages to smash the doors off all of them!

flipping good
I enjoyed this album a lot. I've only given it 4 stars instead of 5 because some of the remixes in it are not so great.

Terrible Excuse For Dubstep
Seriously, this isn't Dubstep! This is some cheap knock-off of it. It sounds like it was made by some 13 year old with all the kiddy speaking in it. Read more
