This connector didn't seem to work for me, but I THINK I've worked out why. (Please understand I'm not an expert - so I stand to be corrected!):-
I wanted to connect two SCART leads (one from a DVD / VCR switch to another going to my TV). Now SCART leads are not connected completely "straight", for example, pin 1 at one end is wired to pin 2 at the other. This connector, however, connects the two leads straight. Hence, pin 1 at one end of the first lead goes to pin 2 at its other end, then straight through this connector to pin 2 of the second lead - and thus back to pin 1 again!
However, some connectors (such as the Hama, if I remember correctly) have "crossed" wiring built in (so pin 1 of the first lead goes to pin 2 - THEN THROUGH THE CONNECTOR BACK TO PIN 1 - and thus the second lead takes this pin 1 to pin 2 at the end, as it should.
Of course, there may be situations in which this is desired - as I say, I'm no expert!
