As a diehard (all puns included) fan of Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series of books, I really looked forward to receiving my copy of Scarpetta's Winter Table. Instead of the razor sharp writing style and the deep and broad content I expect from Cornwell (especially when she writes of Scarpetta's cooking acumen--hence my excitement over another Scarpetta cookbook), I got something that could have been written by any high schooler. The recipes were lightweight and silly. The copy was worse. The copy was inconsistent with the novels on every level. If Patricia Cornwell really wrote this, I will have to apologize. If she did not write this and merely approved it via some publishing deal where she had minimal oversight, her representatives should do better by her...and by her fans. I cannot recommend this book, as much as I would like to do so.
