Product Description

Scarlett's not red like a sunset, she's red with rage. She cannot BELIEVE her mum's sunk so low as to pack her off to Ireland to stay with the dad who left them. Surely he's the reason for everything going wrong, her never being able to stay in a school, rules always just, somehow, seeming to get broken? Ha! They won't get round her so easily.

But she hasn't reckoned the gorgeous Kian, and he might just find a way to change Scarlett's mind. There's a chance that - this time - things will be different . . .

I have read all of Cathy's books and although they're all brilliant, Scarlett is something extra-special. Scarlett has been in loads of trouble, and her mum, who can't take any more, sends her away from their home in London to her Dad's place in the wilds of Ireland. As the story unfolds, Scarlett transforms from being a hurt and angry girl into someone brave and amazing, finding love and magic along the way with a mysterious boy called Kian. The writing is brilliant - poetic but pacy, and there's not a dull moment or lull in the story. It's gripping, and I cried at the end! Just perfect.

This is a book about a troubled young teenager called Scarlett. Her life is one big road of misery, especially after her mum has had enough of her getting into trouble at school. She packs her off to stay with her dad on the west coast of Ireland. Scarlett feels unwanted, and distant from her father and his happy family. But can local boy Kian turn her thoughts around?

Scarlett
by Cathy Cassidy

I really enjoyed this book because you can really understand the way Scarlett is feeling. My favorite character was Kian, because he was always there for Scarlett when she needed him. A real page turner and a great book. A book for all girls who like a story of magic with a tad of adventure. You will love it!

Myself and my daughters aged 14,12 and 10 all enjoyed this well written and moving story of the confused teen Scarlett as she struggles to come to terms with family break up, schools and adolesence generally. We thought the gentle love story between her and Kian, and her reconciliation with her family and life/school generally was well-written and heart-warming. We first encountered the story on audio casette and liked it so much we bought the book. We've passed the book on to a friend with a son called Kian and await her comments on the story with interest! Enjoy!
