Product Description

For generations, it was an urban legend that lived in the nightmares of children. Now, the season to rejuvenate the tale will revive a town s darkest fears.

With the Scarecrow Festival on the horizon, school teacher Aaron Harris is doling out punishment for six students serving detention, including the moody Tyler, Goth girl Nikki, wrestling team captain Daevon, and straight-A student Maria. Their task: help their friend Kristen s family farm with some grunt work before it s sold. But the cornfields circling the farm come with a legend and Tyler takes macabre delight in recounting the tale: It never sleeps, it never dies, it can t be stopped, hear their cries. The Scarecrow lives to kill us all. Keep it buried in the fall...

When the kids play a terrifying game of cat and mouse in the cornfield with what they believe is a wild animal, Kristen tries to convince them that the Scarecrow is a very real creature of fierce strength and power, rejuvenated by the blood of its prey and proof comes all too soon. As darkness falls over the rustling fields, the last survivors must fend off the flesh-ripping terrors of the Scarecrow. As autumn falls across the land, there s a palpable chill in air that can freeze the blood. Scarecrow is coming

1.0 out of 5 stars Total crap 9 Aug 2014

This film is absolutely awful. I admit, I was misled by the five star reviews on this website, but what a mistake that was. I now realise why there were so few five star reviews of this film and also why IMDB only rates it 4.1, which should have told me everything I needed to know. This was directed by Sheldon Wilson, who also helmed Shallow Ground, which is equally as forgettable and plotless as this effort. Basically, this is a direct-to-DVD cheapie, with obvious CGI, not much in the way of gore and a cast of virtual unknowns. The only actress that I recognised was Lacey Chabert, who had previously appeared in the remake of Black Christmas. Basically, if you are tempted to waste money on this turkey, then I would seriously reconsider. Just give the money to charity instead, because at least it will be put to much better use. If you are looking for a decent scarecrow horror film, then I would suggest Jeepers Creepers, Husk, or even Dark Night Of The Scarecrow, which all blow this out of the water. One star from me, I wish that I could give it less.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scary 'nuff 6 May 2014
I didn't know what to expect from this movie but was drawn to it by the brilliantly creepy cover art. I'm glad I took a chance with it because it's a down and dirty frightfest that hares along a great pace with some good performances (as well as a couple of average ones) towards a confrontation that had me shouting at the telly. Great fun!

This dvd was recommended,so stupidly i bought.I would recommend this dvd to someone, who has NEVER seen a horror dvd in their life;[and what is the chance of that?],only then do i believe ANYONE could find this remotely scary,It is a ridiculous story about an old scary' myth about a scarecrow roaming around someones property----cant say much else,as it is complete, utter, total and entire garbage.Nothing else to say---RUBBISH,RUBBISH,RUBBISH.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't fear the scarecrow. 5 Jun 2014

I bought this film as it stars the lovely, Lacey Chabert. The budget on the film is a little on the low side, but it still features some decent special effects.

if I had one complaint, it's I think the film could have been a bit more suspenseful, the plot feels a bit rushed at times. An entertaining film just don't expect to much.

3.0 out of 5 stars Scarecrow to die for, story and acting aint!!! 31 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase
As far as the story and acting goes, pretty grim but a creature to die for, very good cgi,but its a shame the terrible acting and story makes poor use of such a very well done monster in the form of the scarecrow. Its the usual story, cabin, field and scarecrow.great special effects, awful everything else.

Do not buy this movie, I watch plenty of horror movies and this is genuinely the worst horror movie I have ever seen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Horror Film 26 Feb 2014
By fil,
I saw this in New York recently. BEST HORROR FILM in ages. The Scarecrow is truly terrifying! They should stick the trailer up as once you see that, you will have to watch the whole thing. I honestly can't think of a scarier, better directed, better visual effects horror.

If you are a horror afficianado you will love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eagerly Awaited Release 6 May 2014
I've been waiting for this to come out in the UK since I heard about it from my best friend in the States, and it didn't disappoint. Classic horror set in the corn belt, cue tall maize, things moving it, protagonists being dragged from view and a deserted house you cant get away from... sit back and enjoy!
