More About the Author
In real life, I'm the mother of a teenage steampunker and the slave of two Corgis and two cats. I am also the chief attendant of five Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. Alas, MHC Betty recently departed this earthly terrarium for Cockroach Heaven.
In my amazon life, I'm the New York Times bestselling author (with Debbie VIguié) of the Wicked series (Wicked 1, Wicked 2, and Wicked: Resurrection) as well as our new series, Crusade. Both series are marketed as young adult, but we have a lot of "old adult" fans, too. We have also sold a third series called The Wolf Springs Chronicles to Delacorte (Random House.) All three of these series are available in the UK, or will be soon.
Wicked has been optioned by DreamWorks, and Debbie and I are very excited about that.
I also write the young adult horror series, Possessions. There are three books in the series: Possessions, The Evil Within, and The Screaming Season.
I have written a lot of episode guides, novels, and short fiction for such "worlds" as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville, Hellboy, and other TV shows and films. I've written for Harlequin, Nancy Drew, and a lot of material under house names. I love working on fairy tale retellings. By my count, Prince Charming has been married three times at least. In addition, I write comic books and pulp fiction. I've received four Bram Stoker awards for my supernatural fiction. I'm a frequent contributor to anthologies edited by the English horror editor, Stephen Jones.
My two passions in life are Richard Dean Anderson in his Stargate years and the vocal stylings of Anthony Stewart Head.
I teach at the Stonecoast Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program at the University of Sourthen Maine. I'm a theme park junkie and dreamt of going to Robin Hood Land in Nottingham, but was recently informed of its demise. I am bereft. Like any good Californian, I also love going to Renn Faires and the Dickens Fair, held in the sumptuous Cow Palace near San Francisco. I'm also a Maker Faire-goer and there's a great annual Dr. Who convention up in L.A.--about two hours from my house by car unless there's traffic, and then it takes about a week or two unless I get the keys to the Tardis.
Additionally, I have separate FB pages for each of my series.
