If you are new to shortwave radio, (as I am) this is the book for you. It's very informative, and explains things in great detail.

Reasonable overall content about scanning and scanners. Unfortunately some of the fequency listings are well out of date, entries neve seem to get deleted when they are no longer valid.

Sadly, I was disappointed with Scanners 6, both with the quality of the publication and the content. In respect of the quality of the publication, in my copy Chapter 8 was inserted back to front, and chunks of text are missing from other areas. There are numerous typo's too. The content is in the main very informative, but there is far too much outdated information, e.g. references to numerous airfields/agencies which closed years ago, and new airfields/agencies not included. This is particularly disappointing for an "updated" publication. Finally, in the review section, at least one photograph does not depict the equipment described in the text, (Alinco DJ-X3).
Despite my comments, if you are new to Scanning, there is much to be learn't here, more experienced listeners may find it less useful.
