Book Description

The first book in the Regency Rhapsody series: lighthearted, sweet novellas set in regency-era England, celebrating the timeless power of romance with just a bit of mystery. Written for lovers of the classic regencies of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

A notorious baron aims to prove himself to a proper lady, whose lack of sight does not impair her better sense...

When a cruel prank leaves the blind Olivia Blake ripe for humiliation on a ballroom dance floor, she is an infamous rake. Soon she is seduced by the charm of Adrian Calwell, the scandal-chased Baron of Norbury, who is much more than he seems.

Adrian's only goal in rescuing Olivia was to thwart another man's heartless trick. But Olivia proves to be well worth it, and Adrian is impressed by the unusual young lady. Unfortunately, his reputation as a scoundrel sets the Blake family against him.

He is forbidden to court her, but when rumors threaten Olivia's own reputation, Adrian takes matters into his own hands. It will take all of Adrian's ingenuity and all of Olivia's daring to find the truth and prevent a scandal at dawn.

This book was previously published under the title Love is Blind.

4.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT 24 Jan. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A really charming short story of a rake who comes to the rescue of a blind girl, after a nasty prank by a cruel man, at a ball. Leaving Olivia Blake, in a situation which would cause her public ridicule. Adrian Calwell Baron Norbury comes to the rescue, Adrian a notorious rake is charmed by Olivia's innocence and vitality for life despite her blindness.

But Olivia's uncle and guardian refuses her to have anything to do with Adrian, fearing he is merely amusing himself, at her expense. But Adrian is determined to know Olivia better. He employs the aid of her cousin Emily St. George. Emily is Olivia's closest companion, and fiercest protector.

I really enjoyed this short story. I have read many historical romances, but this was different featuring a heroine who is blind. Both lead characters were very nicely portrayed, I liked the side characters of Emma and Adrian's friend Robert Griffin. Perhaps there is a story for those two coming up I hope so.
If you like a nice and easy romantic read this fits the bill IMO.

4.0 out of 5 stars Could have been a 5 23 Jun. 2014

A pleasant and unusual story that I felt could have been a 5 star read if only it was longer and the characters more defined. It was too short for romance to blossom to its full potential, and for you to get that heart fluttering feel.

But not outstanding. Too short and predictable. Story could be developed further but it does rather rush to the finish suddenly.

Slightly nauseating novella. I probably wouldn't have finished it had it been a full length book - pretty much just pap.

I enjoyed this book because there was no intrigue or un-necessary plots that went on for most of the book just a lovely simple romance , just right for me.
