Scalextric embraces the worlds of Star Wars with a 1:32 scale Scalextric Start set. Famous characters and iconic vehicles are faithfully reproduced in precise detail, with speeder bikes on the woodland scene printed track. On over 4 metres of track, race two Speeder Bikes piloted by Luke Skywalker and a Scout Trooper across the woodland scene and duck through the card accessories depicting the famous scene from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
This set includes everything you need to get started, including skill level hand throttles – twist the dial on the side for the novice setting so that cars won't come off the track, or set it to advanced for more realistic skill-based racing. Also included are 4.3 metres of track, requiring 170 x 170 cm of space, and track-side features depicting some of the film's most famous scenes.
The two racers featured in this set are carefully painted and detailed models of Luke Skywalker and a Biker Scout, riding Speeder Bikes built for easy-change pick-ups and Magnatraction, which helps keep speeding vehicles on the circuit as they make turns.
The Scalextric Start range is designed to be the perfect introduction to Scalextric for children aged 5 years and up, featuring parts designed specifically for younger racers. The track pieces are especially easy to connect and disconnect, making for easier assembly and tidying away.
Each set includes super tough cars built to take a tumble, and they need not whiz off the track at all thanks to the optional novice setting on the hand throttles. Scalextric Start is also compatible with standard Scalextric products. Scalextric Start provides everything for the rookie racer in a ready-to-race package.
If you find that one of your Scalextric vehicles is not steering correctly, it may mean that the braid plate is loose (this can be caused when vehicles are crashed together). In order to refit or replace the easy-fit braid plate on one your Scalextric vehicle, please follow the steps below to get your car up and running again:
1. Ensure the tail of the braids are facing towards the rear of the vehicle, not the front.
2. Place the braid plate onto the rear of the blade.
3. Pull the braid plate over the front of the blade.
4. Sliding the plate onto the blade, ensure you push the plate until it clicks into position.
If you have a problem with your Scalextric set, please contact the Scalextric customer service helpline on 01843 233525.
