Celebrating the return of Bond in Skyfall and 50 years of Fleming's thrilling legacy comes one of two Skyfall-themed Scalextric sets. In Skyfall, James Bond's loyalty to M is challenged over secrets from her past. When MI6 is attacked, it falls to Bond to seek out and eliminate the threat regardless of the cost to himself.
Re-enact scenes from the story on track or make up your own exciting chase scenes using the gravity-defying flying leap. A chicane and crossroads form part of the extended figure-of-eight for endless daredevil manoeuvres with the two James Bond cars – a Range Rover and an Aston Martin DB5. The ramps and chicane can change positions for different challenges.
The Skyfall Scalextric set includes everything you need to get started, including 5.32 metres of track (210 x 140 cm of space is required), special chicane, crossover, and flying leap sections of track, the 1:32 scale Aston Martin DB5, and the 1:32 scale Range Rover.
The vehicles contained in this set are super-resistant, which maximises the opportunity for extended destructive fun! Taking advantage of Scalextric magnatraction technology and featuring quick-change braids, the cars are also digital plug-ready (DPR), meaning they can be used with the digital Scalextric sets. Digital plug chips, hand throttles, track pieces, and a power base are required to convert this set to digital.
Thanks in part to the world's most famous spy, there aren't many cars more iconic than the Aston Martin DB5. Released one year before the premiere of Goldfinger (after which its Corgi model became the best-selling toy of 1964), this Scalextric counterpart of the DB5 boasts Scalextric's usual exacting standard of detail.
The Scalextric Range Rover has had a facelift and differs from previous releases of the vehicle with updated headlights, rear lights, wheels, and front and side grills.
Digital allows you to race more than two cars at the same time and perform amazing realistic overtaking and braking manoeuvres on your opponents. By pressing an extra button on the digital hand throttle, you can make your car switch lanes on special sections of track, allowing you to overtake or strategically block your opponents' cars at key moments in the race. Each set comes with digital cars and more can be bought separately, and you can even convert analogue slot cars you own to digital.
Most standard cars are DPR (digital plug-ready), including the ones in this set, and can be converted to digital in under a minute just by slotting in a digital plug (also available separately). Digital layouts are fully compatible with standard Scalextric track pieces. Scalextric Digital offers the most advanced and exciting experience yet for racers, whether you're new to Scalextric or seeking to build on your analogue sets and cars.
If you find that one of your Scalextric vehicles is not steering correctly, it may mean that the braid plate is loose (this can be caused when vehicles are crashed together). In order to refit or replace the easy-fit braid plate on one your Scalextric vehicle, please follow the steps below to get your car up and running again:
1. Ensure the tail of the braids are facing towards the rear of the vehicle, not the front.
2. Place the braid plate onto the rear of the blade.
3. Pull the braid plate over the front of the blade.
4. Sliding the plate onto the blade, ensure you push the plate until it clicks into position.
