Well, this is the first time I've submitted a review of a product on amazon. I have to say, I ought to have been warned by the earlier review.
I don't have a particular problem with the packaging, but the manufacturing quality is not what I would have expected from this brand.
The connecting plugs for the power and controller leads are ill-fitting and therefore temperamental; one of the controllers worked for a short spell on Christmas Day after lots of jiggling and a bit of luck, but now does not work at all. The other one is also unreliable.
I'm returning the product and will buy another from the "proper" range. This set is not fit for purpose and should be avoided even at a heavily discounted price. It's just not worth the hassle and disappointment. I hope for great things from the other range as it seems incredibly expensive.

We bought this track to add to another small track we bought our son. As soon as you open the box you can see it was no where near as good quality as our previous set and it didn't fit together with it either!!! cars felt a lot cheaper and one of the controllers won't work!!!

Very disappointed son on christmas day as could not get this to work. Didn't even manage to get cars off starting block! Am returning for a refund.

Good starter set
Good set for beginners, though you'll want to buy extra bits of track before long as there's a limit to the layouts you can do with this.
