5.0 out of 5 stars Still has something to offer, 14 Jun 2010
By Will R. Volny - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Scale Electric Flight (Modeller's World) (Paperback)
Just a few words about Kessler's book. I'd purchased and read it when it first came out in English (it's German in the original; it has interesting side comments about the swastika being illegal, for example). It was valid back then. I'd just pulled it off my bookshelf a week ago (June, 2010) and gave it a re-read. Still a fantastic read in its level of detail and applicability. It does not mention of course, LiPO batteries, but Kessler goes over enough specifics for the model builder that the text keeps its freshness after all of these years. The last section gives a motivational foray into the available kits available in scale. Some are no longer available, but the subjects still provide very good kindling for the fire of the imagination. I will most definitely keep this book on my shelf - and I don't think there are many more recent books that cover the topic any better (I'm thinking of Schleicher's book "How to Build and Fly Electric Model Aircraft" which I have yet to dig into).
