I purchased this item 2.5 weeks ago. It worked very well but then today out riding I went to switch it on and there it was...gone. The electronic unit/battery unit needs a better securing system to the base unit rather than just slide in and out. How it came to be unclipped is inmaterial as it is designed to be used with gloved hands and it is possible to knock it even when adjusting the helmet. 150 pounds for 2 weeks use is somewhat expensive.!

I will update this review.
I sent an email to Cardo explaining what had happened, that the electronics module had unclipped whilst on the road and that maybe it would be beneficial if they made a foolproof clip arrangement. Very easy to make mistakes wearing gloves! The end result of email communications between Cardo and myself was that Cardo have replaced the entire item. I never asked nor expected them to take this action as it was obviously the user at fault, that they did is somewhat amazing and says a lot about the company. However, if you do buy this item be careful the same thing does not happen to you. I have found that clipping a cable tie very tightly around the mic stem base securely locks the module in place but can be rotated to free the module when required.

The Best you can get 12 Oct 2010
I have tried many intercom systems over the years including Autocom products. Wired and wireless.

The Scala G4 Headset takes matters to another level.
The Bluetooth on this device brings the high standard you would expect with wired, and then some. and guess what no wires apart from within the helmet. which only taken half hour to install.

The quality is very good, and the sound will blow you ear drums out if you have it too loud.

I would of gave it 9/10 but the fact that you can update the softeware and profile on this peace of kit, means that I have no choice but to give it 10/10

By James
I orded a pair of these as advertized, but only recieved 1 unit. Contacted Amazon support and the other unit was posted at no extra charge. They work well with the exception of the 'radio', which is 'useless'. The top buttons are hard to push and difficult to use. The 'menu' is not straight forward or intuatitive and I find myself referring to the manual. Not any good when I am riding. The intercom is very good when it works. At switch on, the units don't find each other as stated in the manual, a press of a button is required and then you wait about 20 seconds or so and they connect. That time delay is present every time a button is pressed. Once you realize about the built in delay, the menu system makes sense but waiting for the headset to work is irritating and a design flaw. Once connected they work very well as a rider to passenger intercom. The phone connects ok but I've never been able to answer a call using either the buttons or shouting in the microphone. I am using a modern phone.... Bike to bike I've never tried but when dealing with a post race crash at the TT, they were invaluable when I was at one end of Handleys Bend and communicated with the other unit around the corner about four hundred yards away. I've used them for a year now and find the battery last's about 10 hours. I would give them 4 out of 5 stars...
