This is a great album that has Nat Adderley on top form, Amazon have messed up , again on the MP3 link though. Like so many albums that are sonld on 2 for 1 CDs Sayin' Somethin' was also released as Sayin' Somethin'/Live at Memory Lane. It is annoying enough, although more understandable, that the MP3 link on that page goes to the Live at Memory Lane album MP3 (only half of the CDs contents) but this has been repeated on this album too: the wrong album. Amazon make these lazy mistakes because they they don't care and customers kind of used to being treated with contempt. You can get an MP3 download of this album Sayin' Somethin'

Mo' Joe 18 April 2013
By John M. - Published on
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
It's Joe Henderson tenor sax with Joe Zawinul leading the rhythm section behind Nat - LIVE AT MEMORY LANE. On SAYIN' SOMETHIN' tracks 1-8 Nat is the only horn soloist on the tentet tracks 1,2,4 and 5 - On tracks 3,6,7 and 8 it's the Nat Adderley quintet with Joe Henderson and Herbie Hancock.

Joe has great solos on both sessions including some medium down ones at Memory Lane. He gets such a rousing round of applause as Nat introduces the band members at sets end that he doesn't introduce himself just starts playing again. - No electric piano on either session.

One of the Best.... 14 Mar 2004
By Scott K. Fish - Published on
Format: Audio CD
About 30 years ago I bought a cutout vinyl copy of "Live at Memory Lane" from a drug store. I didn't know Nat Adderley at all, but this is one of my all-time favorite records. The band is superb - Roy McCurdy on drums and Joe Zawinul on a slightly-out-of-tune acoustic piano are especially good. Just a great album of great musicians making great music.
I don't know the other (first) CD in this collection, but it doesn't matter. The "Memory Lane" CD alone is well worth the price.
