About the Author

Rebecca Tsaros Dickson writes. Because it's what she knows. Stints as a reporter for two daily newspapers, which included two Presidential Primary races, taught her the value of a well-chosen word. She left journalism in 2006 to play Momma, but instead found herself filling blank pages (hundreds) while the kids napped. Her first book was released in November 2010. The collection of short stories, aptly titled "I Could Tell You Stories," was released with its own playlist and a boatload of art. Her newest release, "Say My Name," began as an experiment on her blog. A fictional story about high school lovers who reconnect in their 40s, it rides the edge of life's toughest moments. It aims at teaching us how we interact as people through voyeuristic scenes of love and loss. And it is raw with emotion, a style which began with "I Could Tell You Stories." Her new project, temporarily dubbed "Don't Ruin my Life: Crap my kids say" is in the works. Becky lives with people - and too many dogs - in the middle of nowhere, New Hampshire. For now, it's where she belongs.

A wonderful read you'll lap up in one sitting. The emotive language in this tale, of a love lost but never relinquished, will tug on your heart-strings and leave you reaching deep into your own memory banks for those precious moments of youth that forever remain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes you feel so much pain in so little time. 21 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Why is that it!?!? SAY MY NAME catches you in your heart from the beginning and I swear it finishes on a note so damn painful, you'll be writing a review like I am and be shaking and your heart breaking.

I love reading literary fiction. This book may be my favourite kind because I'm a sucker for romance and this literary voice, in all it's gut-wrenching pain tells a story that is short enough to remain intact in my memory possibly forever.

Love, love, love this stuff from Becky. I am just annoyed that A) she has no novels so I can read longer and B) there's no other books available from her full stop (I'm willing to read another shortie just to tie me over).

This little story is the best of writing that makes the story come alive, and has two main characters that feel like old friends you've known forever in an instant.

5+ stars and recommended. Must-read fiction!

5.0 out of 5 stars Passion, loss and hope - a must-read, HIGHLY recommended! 24 Aug 2012
By Vince Ascoli - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
In this modern 'social networking' era, where so many of us have encountered past loves, lost loves and paths not taken, Becky has woven a tale of two lovers in their 40s coming to terms with their true feelings after decades of unrequited passion. Anyone who has ever loved, lost and held out hope in spite of it all will see a piece of themselves in this novella - and it may not be easy to face. A must-read, and an outstanding sophomore effort by Rebecca Tsaros Dickson...HIGHLY recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars READ this BOOK! 28 Sep 2012
By Billy Amendola - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm not one to comment on what I call "real books." I'm usually not one to sit and read them. After all what do I know besides music? But, I did read this one and some of Becky's other work and her words captivate me. The words float off the page into my mind and create an instant visual. She's an intelligent, creative writer and you should check her out! (ok, back to my music books :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 12 Dec 2012
By Carl Purdon - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
How long should a story be? As long as it takes and not one word more. SAY MY NAME is a novella -- shorter than a novel but longer than a short story. I read it in half an hour, I think, but I have to admit I lost track of time.

The alphabet is a wonderful tool in the right hands. The mark of a bad writer is when the reader has to reread sentences to decipher the meaning. Rebecca T. Dickson crafts sentences you'll reread simply for the pleasure of tasting them again on your tongue. SAY MY NAME is a first-person journey with a woman in her 40s coming to grips with what might have been. The story is powerful and real. No doubt those same scenes have been acted out in real life countless times. Beyond that, it's beautifully written. Masterful, like a fine painting. Yes, it's short, as long as the story requires, and not one word more.
