Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Refracting Telecope

A refracting telescope works just like a magnifying glass. It uses a convex glass lens (to bend light and bring it into focus. This lens is thicker in the center than it is toward its edges, which bends the light more at the edge of the lens than light coming through the center. This allows all of the light to come together at a focus point. The point of focus is where the image is created.

Alt-azimuth mount

Alt-azimuth mount is a simple two-axis mount for supporting and rotating telescope about two mutually perpendicular axes. One vertical and the other horizontal.

Rotation about the vertical axis varies the azimuth (compass bearing) of the pointing direction of the telescope. Rotation about the horizontal axis varies the altitude (angle of elevation) of the pointing direction.

accessory tray

The accessory tray allows you to keep eyepieces, lens extensions or even a hot drink in one place. Thanks to the tray you will have quick access to everything that you need during a night sky observation.

Very fast delivery, ordered from Amazon. Item well packed. Telescope is very compact and sturdy looking, easy to use and set up. You can carry around all equipment as carrying case is included (as well as accessory case and sky map). The tripod it came with is very strong and had no problems whatsoever. I have already seen Jupiter and Galilean moons. The most impressive is our Moon, looks just FANTASTIC! Great quality product well worth the money, as my brother said " awesome "

Value for money 15 Feb 2012

We got this telescope for Christmas. It is nice, compact and easy to assembly. I thought that telescope turn picture upside-down but this one doesn't. By night we are watching the moon and planets and by day ships on the sea.
