More About the Author

It's true, I'm referred to as "The King of Business Opportunities". The name was actually given to me as a joke during a brainstorming session for a newsletter we were launching with Agora and Early to Rise called Profit Center Dispatch.

In the meeting, top-level copywriter, Don Mahoney, blurted out, "My Gawd, he's the King of Business Opportunities!", and it stuck.

I've launched, bought, sold and reviewed hundreds of businesses and money making opportunities.

I've also advised hundreds of start-up ventures, products and marketing campaigns. I've written hundreds of articles and essays on hot rising trends and legitimate business opportunities.

I speak at select events and still advise business start-ups and entrepreneurs.

My first writing "project" was Yahoo! Unplugged, which become one of the first "interactive" products on the Internet - it was a book, CD and online forum. I reviewed more than 8500 websites and e-businesses in my column over a 5 year period.

I live in Owls Head Maine and Clermont Florida, and rent homes all over the place. I have a beautiful wife and three kids. We homeschool our kids (and I've indoctrinated them with business ideas and strategies......with a light heart and great sense of humor and fun).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Practical Information 2 Sept. 2012
By LoriRay - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I downloaded this book, I thought I would get $1.99 worth and I would be fine with it. This book is full of practical information that most of us encounter in our every day lives but have no clue what to do most of the time. What do you do to get though the airport line and security the quickest? What do you do if you need life insurance and have problems getting it? What do you do if you have a bully for a boss? What do you do if you have a bad credit score and should you care? How do you avoid or get telemarketers to stop calling? Many of these things are everyday problems most of us don't think about until it happens to us, then we are at a loss. Of course you can always search most of these items on the internet and after some time find an answer. But for $1.99, you'd have many answers at your fingertips. If your considering buying this book, only do so after you look at the index and see how many topics are of interest to you. If there are many, than it is worth the price. For me, it was worth more than the price. If not, the save your two bucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Author ignores bias against men 21 Nov. 2012
By echofoxtrot - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The author, who claims to be "savvy", repeatedly ignores bias against men in this book. In the section about gender bias, he only looks at the bias that effects women, and ignores the bias against men. In employment settings, the men that refuse to be unofficial security guards, refuse to do heavy lifting (that is not part of their job description), are quickly shown the door. Discrimination against men (and white people) is rampant; there are cutesy code names for it like "affirmative action" and "diversity". As might be expected, not one word on this subject. Some employment lawyers have actually told me that men are not a "protected group", despite the Fact that Title VII says they are.

One more example: the author advises on how to deal with cheating spouses. In doing so, he cites a survey regarding wives that have been cheated on. The innuendo is that only men cheat, while multiple surveys have found that wives cheat as often as husbands.
