Laurel McBane did not come from a rich family, but she eventually found her way to fulfill her dream of attending culinary school. Now Laurel is part of a business with her three best friends to plan and organize weddings for clients. Laurel creates sinful confectionary delights for the clients' weddings and parties. This also has the added benefit of coming into contact with Parker's hunky brother, Del.
Laurel has had a crush on Delaney "Del" Brown for most of her life. Even though she still believes that the Ivy League lawyer is out of her reach, Laurel's temper has her kissing Del in a moment of madness ... and everything changes for them both.
**** FOUR STARS! The Diva of Desserts is falling into Romance's trap. Laurel finds it to be as sweet as her wedding cakes. The author has succeeded in making her characters totally believable. Unlike the perfect heroines in most other novels, this cast of ladies cannot eat anything and never gain an ounce. This tight group of friends hit the gym daily. It is only one of the many details Nora Roberts uses to bridge the gap between the reader and the story's characters. I could not help but come to care for Laurel and her friends. I felt as if I were part of their private circle. Charming, witty, and filled with quirky humor, this story will tickle your funny bone while also melting your heart. ****
