Unfortunately for Kitty Holland, a known pro-choicer, this book already seems utterly out of date as it was rushed to print before the HSE and HIQA reports into Savita's death were concluded and therefore manages to miss the entire point: That this poor woman died due to the mismanagement of an extremely rare strain of sepsis, and not because her baby was not aborted. Perhaps Ms Holland will write a second edition where she calls for better standards in the treatment of sepsis in pregnant mothers in Ireland including a national definition of sepsis. But then again, that wouldn't suit her agenda nearly as much as claiming that Savita died due to the absence of abortion on Irish statute books, so I won't hold my breath. RIP Savita.
