Overall, I liked the Saving with Menu Planning book by Kimberly Eddy. In her book she offers some really good ideas on how organize your menu, stock your pantry and save money at the same time.
The things I really liked about her book included:
How to create a Master Price List
The We're Out of Something List
How to schedule menus based on time committments
The things I did not like included:
I don't like cookbooks that link to an author's book which you can buy for more information. Eddy suggested buying one of her books to supplement how to save money by shopping long-term.
I'm not fond of books that link to external websites for more information. The reason being is you are not always going to have access to the Internet. Eddy provides a link for printing and downloading a seasoning guide. The link is found at location 721 of her book.
Finally, she gives some really good ideas on how to protect your well-used cookbooks. While her ideas are excellent, I would suggest purchasing either Mastercook 11.0 or Macgourmet Deluxe 3.0 as both software programs will allow you to type in and save your favorite recipes. Both programs offer easy menu planning too. In particular, MacGourmet will export your menu plans to the Mac calendar making it easy to find what your meal plan for the day is. In fact, you can even set up a reminder, if you like using the Mac calender.
Overall, this is a well thought out cookbook. Recommend.
