Robert Oldham was born in England in 1950 and has a B.A. in History from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Library Science degree in 1978 from the University of Toronto. He has been a librarian since 1979.

Robert's work "Smashing Time" was in the final short list for the Commonwealth Short Story Competition in 1997. He has published two mystery short stories and a biographical piece on Canadian General Harry Crerar. He contributed to Berkswell Royal Year 1993/94 and his poems have been published in otobe/England, Quarry, Acta Victoriana and the Coach House anthology, This Is My Best. His articles have been published in Monarchy Canada and the Canadian Library Journal.
Saving the King is the first in a projected series of novels giving a coherent alternative version of history from 1940 into the 21st century. He is currently working on book two, Kz1.
