This carrier has two strong and sturdy straps, one for over the shoulder and the other round the waiste. The shoulder strap has a moveable and shaped cushion for comfort. with the weight of a dog inside it is very needed as maybe two straps to spread the load more evenly would be more comfortable. The bag itself is made from heavy duty nylon with mesh ventilation at the sides top and front. The two pannels at the top and front open by means of a double zip. If your dog or cat is into chewing things, I wouldnt reccommend this item as it would be all too easy to chew or claw out of it. The double zip head is handy, but could also be opened without your knowledge by your pet. I have two mini carabina clips which hook through the two zip heads for security when required. The front panel can be rolled back and sticks to itself by means of velcro. My dog didnt appreciate this getting stuck to her bum! I found the safety lead is long enough for my dog to climb all the way out of the front panel when open. I attach her by her harness not her collar. Being short, I prefer to use the carrier back to front on my bike - no distraction, and so much easier to balance. In this way, I wouldnt recommend this for any kind of long journey - a couple of miles suits our purposes. It isnt really suitable for wet weather, being mainly mesh, but the addition of a cushion and blanket makes it cosy. I'll be trying it out on the train, long distance soon, which will make life easier travel wise as it is also quite a handy portable bed. Depending on your dog's personality, you may have to get them used to it gradually. It gets the paws up from mine as she will get into it voluntarily. If she hated it she would have chewed it up by now.

Item stated for pets up to 10Kg, but we struggled to get our 5Kg dog in it, once he was in however it was so uncomfortable, as the weight is all on one shoulder, that within a few minutes of walking I had almost lost the feeling in my arm! The vendor has kindly refunded the item.
