Product Description

Product Description

Save our Valleys is a fictional tale about the animals that live in the green Valleys of Wales, including Baarbaara the oldest sheep in the Valleys, an old Pit-pony called Mr. Coal and a squirrel called Dylan, who join up with all the other animals, to help the humans without them knowing. They are planning to protest against a Mega-Company, from another Country building an Incinerator in their beautiful Valleys.
The story follows the animals on their quest to stop the Monster Incinerator being built, which could destroy their homes and pollute their environment if it went ahead.
Mr Coal and Baarbaara both remember when the Valleys were black with soot from the coal mining industry, and now that the trees and grass and wildlife have returned they want to ruin it all again. Why?

More About the Author

Born in Cardiff in 1964, I now live in the Darren Valley in Mid Glamorgan, Wales it is a beautiful and inspiring place for a writer to live. Surrounded by forests and lakes an mountains.
I write short stories and poetry,I love to read and write and paint.
My first book "Save Our Valleys - A Sheep's Tail" was written to inspire children in our local area to get involved in a campaign against a "Monster Incinerator" proposed for the top of the mountain, where Baarbaara and her friends live, luckily we beat the proposal in real life.
The second book "Hedgehog Rescue - Saving Itchee & Scratchee" is based on truth as last winter there were a lot of late baby hoglets who were too small to survive the cold.
The third book is a poetry anthology entitled "The Black Hole" this is written partly by myself and from local people who are campaigning against the threat of an extension on the opencast mine in the Rhymney, Merthyr and Darran Valleys.
Also includes poetry from the well known Poets and Authors Mike Jenkins, Abigail Wyatt and Winston Plowes.

bought this book for my daughter and she loved it, The book is cleverly written by the author using animals but also teaching the children about our enviroment will definitely be buying the other books the author has written my child loved the fact that the book was about the valleys where we live.
