Book Description

Save My Soul: The Preternaturals, Book 2

... All he’s asking for is her soul.

That house. You know the one. It’s the one that seems alive from the road with windows like eyes that see inside you, the one that seems to always be for sale, the one Anna Worthington has wanted to live in since childhood. Ghost stories be damned.

But the dark being that haunts this house, is something far more sinister than a ghost. Luc is an ancient incubus, trapped by a fifty-year-old curse, and Anna is a temptation too sweet for any demon, let alone a practically starved and crazy one. Will she exorcise her house and live happily ever after with her cats, or will she fall prey to a dark lover who doesn’t just want her body, but her soul as well?

If the demon has his way, dying will be her best case scenario.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Well Written & Humorous 13 April 2011
    Format:Kindle Edition
I thoroughly enjoyed this, the first novel I've read of Zoe Winters. Loved the wisecracks, and the ambient humour made me smile. The supporting characters are finely drawn, and the twists in the plot/storyline kept me intrigued, giving it a high-rating page turning quality. Both the sex and love scenes (there is a difference) read as integral parts of the story, as they should, and not as add-ons. Perhaps this is why I didn't see the end coming.

This is Paranormal Romance for adults, with plenty of story, well conveyed. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Paranormal Romance with edge. 24 Mar. 2011
    Format:Kindle Edition
Save My Soul, by Zoe Winters, is a paranormal romance with edge. This is not a genre I've read much, but, in interviewing Zoe for the blog, I became fascinated by the ideas and themes she explores in her writing. There are associations and asides in the narrative, which will have greater resonance with those fully conversant with the genre. But, even as a newcomer, I found the book engaging and entertaining.
Zoe contrasts the tension with humour, and does this well. Her characters are fully formed; even the demons. Her confident descriptions of, and familiarity with, these supernatural beings begs the question, 'How come you know so much about them, Zoe?' And makes me wonder if she's had personal experience of them; such is the depth of detail and intimacy she displays.
There are biblical references in the text that cast, for me, a new light on perceptions of god and religion. As an agnostic, I'm already seriously sceptical about such matters, but Zoe's story telling skills are such that I was willing to suspend my disbelief sufficiently to enjoy the tale.
And that's the most seductive element of this book: the story. It's a great story, with twists and turns, threats to the spunky heroine, mysteries in need of solutions, periods of naughtiness both sexual and otherwise, and a mix of characters that brings real depth to the tale. It manages to be erotic without ever straying into pornography and it keeps the reader turning pages, wondering what will happen next. I'm glad I read it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Save my soul 12 Jun. 2011
    By Bunny
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There was quite a few witty remarks in this book that had me laughing out loud. It was a good read, intriguing storyline, not as raunchy as I was thinking it would be and I didn't see the ending, just when I thought I had it all sussed. I'm sure I'll read more books by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable supernatural story 29 May 2011
By Cheryl M-M TOP 1000 REVIEWER

it was well written and quite funny. luc is an incubi demon who has been trapped in a house for over fifty years by his vengeful witch girlfriend.....the same house heiress anna decides to buy and live in. the question is wha do you do if the house you just bought comes with a demon who has to have s..x to survive and you can't get him to leave. the only thing i didn't like was the fact that some parts seemed to be rushed and were kept basic...not enough detail. this seems to be a series so it will be interesting to see if the writer can give her characters a little more scope.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, Devilish Fun 15 Mar. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
Save My Soul is an easy and fast read - perfect for a lazy weekend. Anna was a relatable character - I liked her snark and humour a lot. Luc never quite did it for me. Sure, he's gorgeous and can give you an orgasm by basically just looking at you, but I'm not into sharing. Like Anna, I'd have a big problem knowing the guy I'm half in lust/half in love with is down the hall getting it on with other women, even if there is a good reason for it.
I didn't see the twist coming! That right there is a job well done.
    Sexy, devilish fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was ok 30 May 2011
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It started off really well. I liked the banter between the two main characters and the main plot was interesting. However the story was let down by the poor lead up to some scenes, e.g. dream scenes appeared and it was hard to tell what character was having them. The story jumped around alot also - it needed to be more linear. The relationship between the two main characters needed concentrating on more. It was hard to sy why Luc was so attractive and why their relationship would work.
