Product Description

Heads debut album also entitled Save Me From Myself is a testimony of his life as he battled with drug and alcohol addiction, leaving KoRn, and finding spirituality. His debut album is a heavy metal epic, with a positive message. It will leave no doubt in everyones mind that Head, as a founding member of KoRn, has not lost his passion for the metal sound that originally helped make his former band famous. The album features renown musicians such as Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, David Bowie), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Evanescence, Nine Inch Nails). The album was mixed by Bob Clearmountain, Ralph Patlan, and Head himself.

I was surprised how good this album is as a life long korn fan I wasnt sure what to expect. From the opening track L.O.V.E to the last track WASHED BY BLOOD it is consistent and he isnt a bad singer either. Lets face it korn have been rubbish since he left Head sounds more like Korn than Korn do now if that makes sence. Great album stand out tracks RE-BEL , HOME, L.O.V.E and FLUSH

I've listened to this album for a few weeks now and have to say it's the best rock album i've bought in the last 5 years or so, i'm that impressed by it. It takes me back to when i listened to nu-metal as a teenager. It has awesome guitar riffs, beautiful melodies, but most of all it sounds real and alive, it sounds like it has been written from the soul. I wasn't expecting much, as Brian is obviously mainly known as a guitarist but his voice is suprisingly good. Most of the tracks are fairly long but you really don't notice because with most of the songs, just as you think you know where it's going next, it changes on you into a haunting piano sequence or into a different melody entirely. I often buy albums and skip through tracks, but i can listen to this all the way through over and over. If you enjoy good music, then just get it, can't recommend it highly enough.

As an avid Korn fan since 'Life Is Peachy', I was torn apart hearing about Head's departure from the band. As a guitar player, he was the main reason I loved korn!

That said, it was many years ago that Head left Korn and since then the band has somewhat fallen apart (what with David and Munky leaving, and now JD and Fieldy recently announcing they are going on an indefinate break). So what's taken so long for this debut album to be released? I know Head has written a book sharing the title of the album, but 'Save Me From Myself' has been a long time coming.

After hearing 'Flush', the lead single from the album, it's hard to know why it's taken so long. It's a great song. Amazing even, seeing as he was just a guitarist in Korn. Where the hell did that voice come from! And how did JD keep him so quiet on 'Untouchables' or 'Take Another Look In The Mirror'?! If anything Heads gravelly, throaty, heavy vocals would have suited those albums better than Davis's. However, I do think Head's re-using a few riffs off 'Follow The Leader' in this song, especially from 'Freak On A Leash' (correct me if I'm wrong), but we can let that slide.

That said, this album is quite preachy. As a 'born again christian', Brian Welch is not afraid to share his revolations and beliefs in religion and the lyrics show this. It doesn't take away from the music, but I think he may alienate many of his fans from his Korn days.

I like this album. It really surprised me.

I'll give it 7 out of 10. If you like Korn, especially JD's work on 'Queen Of The Damned', you'll love this.

Any fan of KoRn who is a little disappointed at where the band is now will probably enjoy this album. Heads guitar style is pretty un-mistakable and upon listening to the opening track it instantly reminded me of KoRn (or what they sounded like ten years ago) and that for me was a big plus point! The vocals are good although the lyrics are often over simplistic. The album is reasonably well put together, however some of the tracks do at times feel like they are dragging on a bit and the middle of the album all seems to merge together. It is not a bad first effort on a solo album, and I eagerly await his next offering!

an absolutely amazing album!! i cant stress enough how great this album is and how from the heart it really is. Brian Welch is one of my favourite guitarists and an idol of mine since childhood. even though i am really sad to see him have left korn i am so glad to see him make such a great album which i bought as soon as it came out as i was dying of anticipation to hear what this album was gonna sound like with Brian singing and playing guitar as a solo artist. i was very impressed and i am also looking forward to hearing Brian's new album coming out with his band LOVE AND DEATH !! i really am looking forward to hearing this new album i have herd a few tracks so far and been waiting for ages for the release of this whole album finally, and will most definatly be getting it the very day it comes out as this is one of my favourite bands now and i believe they deserve more media attention and to be a more famous band as they are extremely good at creating mind blowing songs with heavy riffs and excellent vocals. in my mind this is a continuation of what old korn sounded like thank you so much Brian for continuing the old korn sound which we all know and love and i am glad to see it living on as it was one of my favourite bands from childhood and sounds much better by far than what korn have been producing lately...
