Book 1 in the Series

Andi was doing just fine on her own. Sure the world had been hit with an outbreak that turned anyone infected into flesh eating zombies. Not to mention that everyone she ever loved was now dead. She was alive though, taking care of herself. She had little desire to indulge in building relationships with anyone. People just couldn't be trusted. Whether they screwed you over intentionally, or just managed to get themselves killed, no one stuck around for very long. She didn't need anyone else either. That was until Will showed up to save her.

Will, with his sparkling green eyes, lips you just wanted to taste, and insanely adorable crooked smile, wasn't letting Andi get rid of him so easily. Yet still, Andi did everything she could to push her feelings, and Will, away. The more time they spent together though, the more difficult that became. In a world where another day was not something you could count on, wasting even a single moment, could mean missing out on your only chance for happiness.

About the Author

L J lives on the Jersey Shore with her husband, four kids, two cats, and an inherited dog from hell (a.k.a. the sewer gremlin). Though writing has always been her first passion, she got a degree in psychological counseling and worked in the mental health field for awhile, which she finds very helpful in dealing with her crazy family. She is a lover of all different types of music and books, switching between genres so wildly it sometimes makes people wonder if she has multiple personalities. She is most likely to be found writing romance stories of all kinds (contemporary, erotic, new adult, young adult, fantasy, etc.) and has just finished writing her first book, Save Me. When she's not writing, she prefers to spend her time reading, taking photos, or spending time with her family. Visit her on Facebook at or check out her website at

4.0 out of 5 stars really really good! 30 Dec 2013
By Donna
Format:Kindle Edition
The first thing i thought of when i read this book was the storyline reminded me of the TV series Revolution. An virus outbreak sweeps the world creating zombies. Andi is a nineteen year old who survived the outbreak and has to try and survive this world she now calls home. All her family is dead and she is the remaining survivor going at it alone until she comes across a guy named Will who she finds her hard to get rid. Andi finds it really hard to trust people and Will tests her limits a lot. I really loved this storyline as it gripped me from the start. Sometimes i felt that if would have been good to have a few more sense where they got into trouble with the zombies more than hiding out but this way you found out a lot more about the characters backgrounds and what happened in the years before they met. Will and Andi are really sweet but very frustrating as they never tell each other what the are really thinking and a lot of the time i was shouting at my book! The story is clearly not over as it is titled book 1 so i really excited to see where this goes. Defintely a book right up my street and it has left me wanting more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Save Me 18 Jun 2013
By Tina - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a great Young Adult novel. I am not a fan of zombies, but the synopsis lead me to believe (rightfully so) that this was more of a romance set against an apocalyptic background. The love story was sweet, and full of those frequent misunderstandings that teens have because they haven't learned to express their feelings. Some of the teen issues I was impatient with (I am, after all, over 50 myself, so I feel far removed from high school drama), but the story was solid, characters were very well developed and the reader finds it easy to be sympathetic. I enjoyed the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars So not what I was expecting! 100 times better!!! 17 July 2013

I typically read romance novels. I bought this book under the recommendation from a book blog on Facebook. I am so happy that I bought this book. I am a big fan of zombies (Walking Dead and such). I have never read a book about zombies before Save Me. This book blew me away! There is drama, suspense, romance and sadness. I don't do spoilers in my reviews, so I can't really tell you more about the book than what is in the description. I know that plot line is excellent, the characters are beyond awesome and just a great book that is too good to put down. I hope that Ms. Baker is coming out with another book. Her writing is on a pro level.

Such a great read that keeps you wanting more through out the entire plot. There is Never a dull moment and the characters are very easy to sympathies with. I def would consider it a young adult read not to much sexual antidotes and not much gore that would give you nightmares lol.. Just enough to get the point a crossed. A truly adorable love story for all to read. I can't wait to read the next book

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read! 17 May 2013

Review of Save Me by L J Baker
Copy provided by author in exchange for honest review.

Save me is the debut story for L J Baker, I have to admit most times I am nervous to read first books because it's hit or miss. This book grabbed me from the start. Baker has a talent for making you feel like you are right there with her characters as the scenes play out. Save Me is more than just the typical romance novel; it is an exciting adventure into what reality would look like for the Average Joe during a zombie apocalypse.

Baker has created characters that make you cheer for their successes and rage at them when they are making mistakes. Andi is a tough-as-nails on the outside, soft-and-squishy on the inside kind of girl. Her incredible sense of humor and level of snark will have you laughing from page one.
Will, her knight in pink pony armor (I promise it will make sense when you read it!) will have you falling into book boyfriend love.

Without giving much of the story away, the supporting characters Janet and Dan will take you through many emotions- hate, lust, rage, fits of girlish giggles, acceptance, and so much more. You will just have to read to see the beauty in the drama that unfolds. One thing will be a constant throughout... no matter who saves who you will read it to the end wondering if they will ever save each other.

Save Me is a must read debut novel that I give a full Five Stars! Not only did I fall in book boyfriend love, but book boyfriend lust enough that I considered being a cougar might not be such a bad thing! GrawOr!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic voice 29 Aug 2013
By Staci - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
The world after the zombie apocalypse is a harsh, cruel place. You need to be able to trust someone to survive, but the risk in putting your faith in someone else is high.

LJ Baker has a fantastic voice. From the very first paragraph, I was pulled in by Andi and her snark. She's tough, and she's been through a lot. She's used to being alone, so when she meets Will, her instincts tell her to run away so she doesn't get hurt. But Will is worth it.

SO worth it.

I love him with his crooked smile and his pink pony t-shirt. Andi has a lot to figure out about herself and her life before she can let herself go. But she's meant to be with Will. Or at least she better be, or I'm gonna be pissed haha.

I loved this book, and am really looking forward to more about the world and characters that Baker has created.
